Story
Hi all,
As many of you will be aware Ana was diagnosed in February with a yolk sac tumor. Since this time Ana has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment to cure her, from the horrible disease that is cancer.
Manchester Children's Hospital (and Ward 84 - The Children's Oncology ward) have been amazing. This hospital help so many unwell children on a day-to-day basis. We've had incredible help and support from knowledgeable consultants, helpful doctors and amazing nurses. We've also met some other lovely families, who unfortunately are also going through different types of treatment for other cancers including leukemia. All the children I've met are a credit to their families, as they are brave, strong and make us all very proud.
Ana is now two thirds of the way through her treatment plan, and is such a strong little fighter. The level of chemotherapy she has and how she tolerates it, is remarkable. Unfortunately, it is not an easy journey and it does make her very unwell.
Manchester Children's Hospital are currently raising money to build another (they only have 1 at the moment), MRI scanner in the Hospital. Ana has already had 2 MRI scans where they initially detected the tumor. Ana's next MRI scan will be on 26th June, where we will find out if the cancer has gone or not.
