My name is Chris, Richards partner. Richard tragically died on the 25th May 2022. He was the most beautiful, kind, and thoughtful person I have ever known, a true soulmate, and loving partner. 

Though somewhat apprehensive about running a marathon distance - never done it before! I felt it was important to run in Richards honour and to carry on his important fundraising for Age UK, a charity that meant so much to him given his work as both an outstanding Geriatrician and Research Scientist. 

Out of respect for Richard I have decided to keep his words below, to reflect the original cause:

I'm thrilled (if a bit terrified!) to be running this year's London Marathon and for the chance to fundraise for Age UK. As a geriatrician (a doctor specialising in the care of older people), I know how important their work is.

Fortunately I'm part of a great team along with four other geriatricians and we'll be supporting each other as we train over Summer.
