Learning disability charities from across the UK are working together to raise funds targeted specifically to assist those with learning disabilities who are trapped in Ukraine and unable to seek refuge from the war.

Story

Dear friends and supporters,

Julian and I are setting out on a journey to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. Our mission is to raise funds for Mencap, a British charity that partners with Inclusion Europe to support people with intellectual disabilities and families affected by war.

Here is the direct link to their campain for more info:

For most people with intellectual disabilities and families it’s not possible to leave the warzone. For many, it is not even possible to hide in shelters because they are not accessible. Inclusion Europe is working with their member in Ukraine VGO Coalition to help them.

  • 100% of the money collected will be used directly to assist Ukrainian citizens with intellectual disabilities and their families impacted by war in Ukraine.
  • The money will go directly to VGO Coalition and their local organisations so they can buy food, water, medicines, hygiene products, and other goods they need urgently.
  • The money will also be used to pay for personal assistance, and other community-based forms of support to people with intellectual disabilities and their families.

It would mean a lot to us if our efforts inspire you to make a donation. Every gift, no matter how big or small, has an impact.

Thank you for your generosity and support.
