Story
The lockdown here in the UK has not been fun for anyone, but it has made us appreciate the incredible work NHS staff do every single day. This incredible care simply does not exist for 2 billion children around the world today, who cannot get the lifesaving and life-changing care they need.
I work for KidsOR, and I see the impact of our work every day. It costs just £50 to give a child an operation; half will save a life, half will prevent a life of disability. In the middle of the corona crisis, the message we have gotten from our partner hospitals has come back loud and clear: they need our help now more than ever.
To do my bit, I will be climbing the 2,183 staircases in my apartment block in Leith to hit Kilimanjaro's 5,895 metre summit! I think it's going to take me 3 days, but then I also thought that paint splattered, torn jeans were a really good idea, so what do I know?
I would be absolutely delighted if you can sponsor me, and even more delighted if you can send me a podcast recommendation!
