Story
Thanks so much for taking at look at my Justgiving page where I’m raising money for Snow-Camp!
I have now completed the Challenge - Please read the blog if you want to know how it went http://www.igluski.com/blog/2011/02/04/snow-camp-esther-challenge
On 27th – 30th January 2011, Snow-Camp's most hardcore supporters - of which I am one - skied 150km in Portes du Soleil, France covering 15 resorts, including a night ski and a night mountain hike. See more at http://www.snow-camp.co.uk/everestchallenge
Why did I do this?
I believe passionately in the work Snow-Camp does with disadvantaged kids from London's inner-city areas, providing them with a fantastic opportunity to learn life skills and through the challenge of learning to ski or snowboard, helping them to build self-esteem, confidence, trust and self-belief.
For kids where the daily challenges they face are gangs, drugs, poverty, guns and knives, social exclusion, Snow-Camp gives them a new challenge, a new perspective and a chance to find a new path. You can see feedback from the kids themselves at http://www.snow-camp.co.uk
I want to give as many kids as possible the chance to experience the deep sense of achievement in learning how to ski or board, of learning life skills to support them back in their home environment, of how to fall over and pick themselves up and think nothing of it, of how to overcome fear and embrace the risk of tipping down a slope because they trust themselves and those around them.
So how can you help?
It would be fantastic if you can contribute what you can. You can give a little (eg £5 - £50) or give a lot (eg £500). If you sponsor me for £500 or more, Snow-Camp will open up a bursary in your name. Click here for more detail on what that means.
Justgiving will accept donations in £'s or $'s and €'s via Paypal. It is a secure way of donating wherever you are in the world. If you pay UK tax, the Justgiving site will add Gift Aid automatically, which saves Snow-Camp hours of admin and which means that the taxman has to handover an extra 28p for every £1 raised.
THANK YOU!!!!!!
