Story
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
Esther: "I've unfortunately seen the effects of dementia both in my professional and personal life. Working as a healthcare assistant as well as having grandparents suffering with dementia I have seen first hand the stress, sadness, confusion, and huge change it can bring to individuals and families. Experiencing dementia and Alzheimers in this way has taught me a great deal about this awful disease which is why I'm fundraising (and taking part in this crazy challenge!) to support the Alzheimer's society in the small way I can."
Amy: "We sadly lost my beautiful grandma in April 2019 after her 8 year battle with Alzheimer's. Before my grandma was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s I was completely ignorant to the horrible affects that it can have on not only a person but their entire family. Watching my grandma suffer in a world of confusion and isolation was heartbreaking, and I want to do everything that I can to support the Alzheimer’s society in the hope that one day nobody else will have to suffer from this horrible disease!"
Neither of us have done anything like this before, it's going to be a huge challenge but we are so excited to be taking it on in support of Alzheimer's Society.
This is a cause close to our hearts and we would love to raise as much money as possible to support the Alzheimer's society in their mission and the incredible work they do.
