Great Birmingham Run 2015 · 18 October 2015

We support autistic people to live enriched lives

Story

I am taking part in the Great Birmingham Half marathon and I am either totally mad or in complete denial about what to expect. I promised myself that 2015 would be the year that I challenged, and pushed myself to the limit. I think this will be the hardest challenge of my life don't you?

I am supporting Autism West Midlands and want to raise as much as I can for this incredible organisation, Autism West Midlands are the leading charity in the West Midlands for people affected by autism. They exist to enable all people with autism, and those who love and care for them to lead fulfilling and rewarding lives

I remember in the early days of obtaining a diagnosis and the minefield of information that was confusing and terrifying. I felt so alone like we were the only family going through this and the feeling of isolation and loneliness was overwhelming.

Autism West Midlands were there for us every step of the way and this is my way of giving something back, and thanking them for all the support they have given me and my family over the years.

I am proud to be part of the AWM team.

But the main reason I am doing this is for my amazing son Ethan, who inspires me every single day. I love you Ethan you make me the happiest and proudest mum in the world xxx

Please support me on this journey.

Thank you. xx
