Story
To help raise money for the ongoing situation in Ukraine I am putting this unique automata up for a charity prize draw. The automaton depicts a sunflower that rotates when the handle is turned. The piece is entitled 'Sunyashniki', Ukrainian for sunflower. Sunflowers spend their days turning to follow the sun, the French call them 'tournesol' (turningsun). 'Sunyashniki' is entirely unique and handcrafted in patinated copper and brass, with golden leaf. It sits on a base of reclaimed hardwood.
One entry to the draw will be £10 with every penny going to Disasters Emergency Commitee. I will not take any money to cover the cost of the automata which would usually retail at £185.00.
The crisis in Ukraine is only getting worse. Thousands of civilians have already been killed or injured while countless others have been forced to flee their homes to find safety. I have chosen to support the Disasters Emergency Commitee as they have the experience to know how best to use financial donations to help people in such dire circumstances.
A few things to note...
One entry to the draw will be £10 with every penny going to the Disasters Emergency Commitee. If you donate £30 you will be entered 3 times and so on.
If you would like to enter for free without a donation to DEC, you can contact me by email for an entry form. Only one free entry per individual please.
Take note - Just Giving will ask if you want to share your details with me, you need to agree to this so I have your email address to let you know if you win the automata!
The charity prize draw will close on 25th April 2022 and one winner will be drawn by me on 28th April 2022.
The automata will be posted to any UK address at my expense and if you enter from outside the UK, and win, I will contact you for payment to cover postage costs.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and good luck!
