Story
* Not your usual fundraising event**
On 28th April I will be celebrating my newfound freedom by throwing a big fat Divorce Party. There will be cocktails, dancing, and breakup anthems galore (apologies in advance for my singing). Surely it doesn’t get any better than this, I hear you say. Well, you’re wrong. All guests are invited to donate £20 to Women’s Aid, a charity very close to my heart, as any and every opportunity to help raise money for this amazing charity is worthwhile. It also means that it would be morally irresponsible for you to not get very merry.
Check the invite for details and RSVP to me.
The more the merrier so +1s are very welcome. So long as it’s not my ex-husband.
About Women's Aid:
Women’s Aid help victims/survivors of domestic abuse, the majority of which are women. They also support children who have been victims of abuse or impacted by the abuse of their caregiver. Women’s Aid do amazing work across four key areas:
- Frontline support including emergency accommodation
- Providing training and consultancy to charities, local authorities, and employers
- Providing direct support and resources to victims/survivors
- Campaigning, advocacy, and legislative work
Domestic abuse affects so many women. It remains largely a hidden crime and most women seek Women’s Aid support in total confidence. By supporting Women’s Aid we might be helping a friend of friend, our neighbours, our colleagues, our best mates, our sisters, or even ourselves. You. Or me. Because no one ever dreams of needing Women’s Aid support, but so many of us have been or will be supported by this incredible organisation at some point in our lives.
