Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page set up in memory of Gerard Anthony Clarke, known to most of us as 'Ged'.
Ged loved the buzz of dragon boat racing. He used to tell the team that it's all about taking part and having a good day out down by the river. Then he'd say in a quiet voice, "But ... we want to win."
As Ged's family and friends we still find it difficult to accept life without him and this is another way in which we can remember the fun times we had with him.
As a team we've clubbed together to have a boat to take part in this crazy event and made a start on the donation pot. If you'd like to support us in person on 20 June at Pangbourne that would be fantastic. We would also appreciate any donation you wish to make to the British Heart Foundation in Ged's name to continue the research in all heart conditions. Thank you.
Donating through JustGiving to raise money for the British Heart Foundation is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
This total is a continuation from our 2013 Reading Half Marathon walk where we raised £6,813. Last year Team Ged 2014 did the London Moonwalk, walking the 27.5 miles through the night and raised £5,000 for Breast Cancer. Now we are back to raising money for the British Heart Foundation.
So please dig deep and donate now.
