Eryn's 2016 Channel Swim

Kym Wagstaff is raising money for Aspire

Participants: Just me! I wanted to do this challenge on my own for personal achievement and also I really like the idea of raising money for the charity and do something good to help others.

The Aspire Channel Swim 2016 · 5 December 2016 to 31 March 2017 ·

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

I'm doing the Aspire Channel Swim 2016, swimming the distance of the Channel over 12 weeks to raise money for Aspire at my local pool. I will be swimming 4 times a week and covering 118 lengths. I really want to do this challenge under the 12 weeks suggested.

This is the first time I have been involved with a charity event and am looking forward to supporting it but I need help from all of you. I want to raise as much money as possible. I know that there will be difficult times but I am determined to stay focused and with my family's support I will succeed.

Every eight hours someone is paralysed by a Spinal Cord Injury and Aspire provides the essential equipment, advice, housing and grants that spinal cord injured people need to live their lives independently. This is a big challenge, but the more I raise, the more of a difference I'll make, so please be generous!
