Story
Dear friends and family, Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm cycling in this year’s Prudential Ride London-Surrey -100 miles along the Olympic road race route from Docklands to the Surrey Hills and back to The Mall. There will be 25,000 riders, and I am part of a Matt Dawson's team of 175 raising money for Beating Bowel Cancer.
I'm doing the ride because my daughter Nia was diagnosed with bowel cancer at the age of 33 in 2013. I have seen the devastating effect that bowel cancer can have on a family when a loved one is diagnosed with the disease. It’s because of this that I so value the role of Beating Bowel Cancer – which does amazing work raising awareness of the disease, and supporting all those affected by bowel cancer, whether they are patients, survivors or their families.
The team, led by Matt Dawson, aims to raise a combined total of £250,000 for the charity, which relies entirely on donations. Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in UK, and each year, 41,000 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer, but if caught early, more than 90% of cases can be treated successfully.
I’m glad to say my daughter has recently had a successful two year check-up, and she is re-building her life.
So I am writing to ask if you would sponsor me and donate to Beating Bowel Cancer, and help provide them with the funds to continue and expand their critical work. You can do so by using JustGiving - donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate (and you can do so anonymously), they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you for reading, and it would be wonderful if you could sponsor me.
Eryl
