Story
This year we celebrate Childline's 35th anniversary, founded by Dame Esther Rantzen in 1986, promoting child protection. The NSPCC and Childline merged in 2006. Our Childline service is there to give young people a voice when no one else is listening. Whatever problems or dangers they're facing, Childline provides a place for them to turn to for support any time of day or night.
In our 35th year we are looking for 35 companies, groups and individuals to each raise money for Childline this year.
Our target is to raise £30,000 which covers the cost to run Childline for one day. Join our 35 Club and together we can be there for children.
Since April 2020 and January 2021 we have been able to hold over 170,000 Childline counselling sessions to children and young people. During the first spring lockdown, out of 17,000 counselling sessions delivered each month of the pandemic 50 children a day turned to Childline after suffering abuse or neglect.
Thanks to the kind support and donations we have been able to deliver this invaluable service. The 35 Club is not only a way for us to celebrate the past 35 years, but is also a way for local businesses to further support the organisation.
