ERIC'S COASTAL KAYAK AROUND BRITAIN

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.  I will be setting off on 6 June 2009 at 09:30am from the RNLI Boathouse between Central and North Pier Blackpool.  I would really appreciate it if you could come down and wave me off!

I served with the Army for 22 years in The 1st Battalion The Duke of Wellington's Regiment (now  the 3 Yorks) and my son is currently serving with the Parachute Regiment and has recently returned from a 6 month tour of Afghanistan.  It was while I watched my son and his collegues receive their medals, I decided I wanted to do something to help the servicemen who had received life changing injuries during recent conflicts.

I plan to canoe around the coast of Britain in aid of the charity 'Help for Heroes' who do fantastic work for wounded service personnel.   I will be starting on 6 June  2009 from Blackpool Tower travelling clockwise around the coast of Britain and will be returning to Blackpool Tower mid-August. (hopefully!!)   Any sea kayaking club (military or civilian) who would like to join me for any part of the route would be very welcome.  II would appreciate your companionship and local knowledge you can email me at ericinnes@btinternet.com
