CANCER!
For all my family and friends and for all of you who have felt so utterly helpless when someone they know and love is hit by this indiscriminate disease.
I didn't know what to do or say " If there's anything I can do" I said. But what can you do? Apart from being there for them - do some shopping, provide support or whatever.
So, as I chatted to my friend and she casually said " I wish my hair grows back as quickly as your hair grows"..... an idea came to me.
She had lost her sister the year before to cancer and her father-in-law to cancer 6 months before that. Our family, from here to the other side of the world, and other dear friends have also been struck by this terrible disease and I have to do something, however small.
My hair is now about 15 inches long. I have decided to cut it off and donate it to make a wig for someone who has suffered the loss of their hair through chemotherapy and hopefully in the process raise some money for Cancer Research UK.
It's only hair - and I have the choice.
I will post photos before, during and after. If you would like to help in any way that you can or sponsor me in aid of Cancer Research UK I would love to hear from you.
Thank you. Ex
