Story

I have signed up to take part in the Chatter Challenge - a winter swimming challenge which encourgaes you to get in the water as many times as you can! The challenge starts on the 1st November and finishes on the 31st of March. You are not allowed to wear a wetsuit, just a swim suit!

Some of you may know my lovely Uncle Peter passed away in September. He was an enthusastic outdoor swimmer, and many of my favorite memories of him involve jumping into random lakes. He was a positive person, known for having a collection of crazy hats! He did not let his cancer diagnosis stop him from having fun, and due to cancer research we got to have him around for years longer than we may have done! My partner Mark also lost his Aunt from cancer in September, and I know we both would have liked more time with both of them!

So for this winter I plan to head down to the sea, or whatever swimable body of water I am close to, to get very cold in order to convince you to put some money towards a good cause! There are a number of mini challenges, so expect updates with some silly costumes...

The Chatter Challenge has different levels, so my aim is to do a minimum of 50 swims to get to Silver!

About the charity

Cancer in children & young people (aged 0–24) is different to cancer in adults – from the types of cancer, to the impact of treatment & the long-term side effects survivors often experience. Through research we’re determined to overcome some of the different challenges these cancers present.
