Story

Edinburgh Marathon 22nd May 2011

Hi

My name is Eric Thomson and I will be running in the 2011 Edinburgh Marathon to raise money for the Scottish Stroke Association.

To date I have raised  over £4000 and I would be delighted if you could help me reach a total of £5000 in 2011

Having already completed The Chris Hoy Half Marathons in 2009 and2010, the BUPA  2010 10k all in Edinburgh, the  Glenrothes 2010 10k and the 2010  16 mile Kilomathon I have decided to take the plunge and go for the “Full Monty  Marathon Experience"

Stroke is the leading cause of adult impairment and disability in Scotland.

About 12,500 people suffer a stroke each year and of these a third will die, a third will recover well but a third will survive with one or more impairments, including physical, sensory, neurological and psychological.

The  Scottish Stroke Association is  a charity  concerned with helping everyone affected by stroke across Scotland and their aim is to prevent stroke and reduce their effects on individuals and families.

I myself suffered a stroke in 2006 and so the charity has a special place in my life.

Kind Regards
