Hope for Justice / Slave-Free Alliance is an organization with many years of experience rescuing and rehabilitating individuals around the world, who have been trapped in slavery including human trafficking.
I like to think of them as a modern-day, global "underground railroad" and am hoping you will join us in supporting this cause by helping me reach my fundraising target.
To reach this goal, please consider a donation in one of the categories below:
• 10 people who donate US$ 500.
• 50 people who donate US$ 100.
• 100 people who donate US$ 50.
Any other amount also very appreciated.
Why an underground railroad?
During the tragic U.S. history of slavery, dedicated private citizens and freed slaves risked their lives as part of what came to be known as an “underground railroad,” a treacherous escape route that helped others find their way to freedom.
Sadly, in today’s world slavery has not been abolished; it persists in different guises and forms, both in rich countries and poor ones. According to Hope for Justice and Slave-Free Alliance some 45 million souls suffer in bondage as forced labor including trafficking victims, roughly 1/3 of which are part of a corporate supply chain that produces many of our smart phones, EV batteries, solar panels, manufactured items, clothing, food, household products and more.
As a consumer of such products, your small donation can have a meaningful impact.
Over the past year Lex Mundi has proudly worked with Hope for Justice and Slave-Free Alliance to educate #inhousecounsel and law firms about #SupplyChainCompliance.
Now we have put together a delegation of 6 dedicated individuals from across the Lex Mundi global network to make a bigger impact. They are from law firms Basham, Ringe & Correa (Mexico), Noerr (Germany), and companies First Solar (USA), Northvolt (Sweden) and Lex Mundi (USA and Spain)
We are spending our time and own resources to trek in parts of Patagonia for 7-days in Oct, camping in subzero temperatures by night and plodding through Antarctic weather by day.
Please help us to help those in desperate need of rescue by making a small donation now.
