Story
Hi All,
I have run the London Marathon on Sunday 3rd October 2021 in support of Carers UK, the leading national charity for unpaid carers; they support, advocate for, connect and champion carers across the UK.
Every day, 6,000 people in the UK become carers. Many don’t know how or where to get help. As shown in this video, it can be frightening, lonely and very challenging mentally and physically. For some it’s sudden: someone you love is taken ill or has an accident, a child is born with a disability. For others, caring creeps up unnoticed: your parents can’t manage on their own any longer, your partner’s health gets gradually worse. Many are stretched to the limit – juggling care with work and family life, or even struggling with poor health.
It would be fantastic if you could donate and help this great charity.
Your donations can make a huge difference to the lives of unpaid carers across the UK, these include carers like Helen, Joy, Aron. Click here to read their stories.
- £25 could help Carers UK make vital connections and answer emails from four people who find it difficult to pick up the phone.
- £200 could allow a trained adviser to run a Zoom advice session, helping to connect 20 carers who are new to caring, bringing them together to share crucial information and support.
- £500 could staff the Carers UK Helpline for a day, helping connect over 100 carers to much-needed information and support from one of our trained advisers.
Many thanks in advance.
