Story
**Update January 2021**
With school again in lockdown and fundraising activities again put on hold, we are very grateful for the support that has enabled the farm to survive the pandemic so far and we are pleased to say that the new agricultural resource building is now finished and in full operation!
We have an exciting new project this term with orphaned lambs due to arrive on the farm this spring. Every year some lambs are rejected by their mothers and have to be hand reared and our farm partner will be lending us some lambs for rearing until they are strong enough to return to their flock. This is a new and very exciting activity for Edwalton Farm and we will be sharing updates as they happen!
With the current balance almost completely spent on upkeep of the farm and ongoing costs for all the animals, we continue to be very grateful for all donations that will enable our farm to thrive in the future.
**Update September 2020**
Many thanks to everyone who has contributed to our fundraising effort so far. It has been wonderful to read all the messages of support and everyone at school has been very touched by how much the farm means to children past and present, and to the wider community.
We are delighted to have secured funding for the day to day running costs of the farm for the next academic year and to also be able to contribute towards building a new agricultural resource centre to replace the current dilapidated wooden one.
Thank you so much for your continued support!

Edwalton Primary School Parents’ Association is a registered charity: all the money raised by the parent and staff volunteers supports Edwalton Primary School and its fantastic farm.
We raise funds for a huge variety of school activities to support and enhance all of the children’s learning right across the curriculum but we are especially proud to support the ongoing running costs and further development of the school farm. The children benefit hugely from attending the only school in England with a working farm and a 3-acre wood. Caring for the menagerie of alpacas, goats, pigs, hens, rabbits and guinea pigs offers the children of Edwalton Primary School, and their families, an exceptional learning experience and the opportunity to build skills and understanding of the natural environment while growing in the values of empathy, responsibility and sustainability. The farm is much loved by current and past students, families and the local community.
We are sad to say that in 2020 many of EPSPA’s traditional events will not be able to take place due to the effects of COVID-19 and social distancing. These events, as well as providing opportunities for fun and to make memories, enable us to raise funds that support the farm as well as many other school activities. The annual summer fayre raises enough money to fund EPSPA’s annual commitment to the farm without which school would need to spend valuable leadership time seeking additional funding.
While we are unable to hold our usual fayres, discos and other fundraising activities you can continue to raise essential funds by donating through this JustGiving page.
Every Donation Makes a Difference
- £5 on a family Disco ticket would pay to feed the chickens for four days
- A £10 round of ice creams and drinks for the family at the summer fayre would pay to feed the alpacas for four days
- £20 on two books of raffle tickets would pay to feed the goats and pigs for a week
Where the Money Raised Goes
- We are committed to raising £2,100 every year for the school farm.
