Charity cycle from Lands End to John O’Groats (LE JOG)
Cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats (LE JOG) is always a challenge but especially when it’s 950 mile route has to be completed in 9 days - over 100 miles every day! This charity cycle ride will be taking place from 24 May to 2 June - and looks set to be an epic cycle.
It'll be team event, I'll be cycling with Chris Brobin and Andy Quicke, also John and Konrad for the first three days.
The charity cycle ride aims to raise funds for La Renaissance School in Africa - a school built and run via charitable support. Funds are being raised for equipment of which the school is in real need.
La Renaissance School is situated in North West Africa, in Burkina Faso an area of extreme poverty where access to schools is rare, provided by a few state run and a few charity funded schools such as La Renaissance. The school has 257 pupils. Class sizes are large and facilities are extremely basic, teachers and pupils operating with minimal equipment.
The school is integrated and has pupils with a visual impairment - the only such school in Burkina Faso.
The sponsorship funding from ‘LE JOG’ will provide equipment that will give all pupils a better experience of school - and a better education. This is equipment that the children will really benefit from.
The Board of Directors, the staff, and the pupils are all delighted and very grateful to you for the interest you are showing in La Renaissance School in Burkina Faso.
