We fund sarcoma research and offer support to ensure patients get the care they need.

Story

I've got three very good reasons to take part in the Santa Run in Victoria Park on 3rd December. Two are very selfish, but bear with me.

  1. It kickstarts my running game. I used to run quite a bit and I've totally lost interest in it. Here's to having a target and getting some motivation back.
  2. It kicks off the festive season. I suspect that the sight of hundreds of people in Santa outfits getting sweaty and silly around Victoria Park will very definitely get us in the mood for Christmas.
  3. It kicks cancer. Here's the good news: science has been chipping away and making medical breakthroughs for a long time now and we can expect even more. Fun runs and cake sales are funding a hell of a lot more of these breakthroughs than you might think.

I've had my eyes opened since I started working for Sarcoma UK. No cancer is good, but sarcoma is particularly awful.

However, this charity has been punching above its weight for several years and has plunged over £1.5 million into groundbreaking research. They are making things happen, but they could do a lot more.

A few thousand pounds is enough to kickstart a research project that could lead to a clever way to detect sarcoma earlier or find a less toxic way of treating it.

These people know how to harness our 'small' donations and make that money really work.

So, shall we kick ass?
