Against my sedentary instincts I will be taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon in October. I am raising funds in aid of cancer research at Cardiff University.

Like so many I have experienced the loss of someone close to cancer or the complications it creates and the great pain and hardship that a diagnosis and subsequent treatment can cause. Early diagnosis and effective treatment remain our best means of fighting cancer and Cardiff University's research has helped to make great strides in this regard.
