Em's China Trek Challenge
Fundraising for Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity
Fundraising for Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity
In May 2018, my boyfriend's dad, Rob, passed away after fighting a brain tumour for 18 months. He was cared for in the Florence Nightingale Hospice and later by their Nightingale 24/7 Team, and every single staff member & volunteer I encountered while visiting him was absolutely lovely, to both him and everyone around him.
With this in mind, in November this year I will be taking part in a 9 day trek along and near the Great Wall of China, to raise money for this incredible cause. I am determined to help the charity ensure that every family in that situation receive the amount of love and support that Rob received last year, and what better way to do that than to do something seemingly ridiculous!
Those who are particularly close to me will know that to do something like this, especially at the moment, is massively out of my comfort zone and a huge challenge for me - I don't like going to Morrison's on my own in my lunch break, let alone Asia!
I will be running lots and lots of events to fundraise for this throughout the year, so keep your eyes on my social media to see what they are! Alternatively, feel free to donate to this page as sponsorship for the trek itself!
Please note: the target amount on this page includes the cost of the trip as well as an equal donation to Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity. I will be paying for my visa, vaccinations etc. myself and any extra money I raise will of course go to the charity.
