Story
The UK's only national cleft support charity urgently needs our help. Their income has fallen catastrophically after the pandemic, leaving the future of their services in serious danger.
Clapa is the only cleft palate charity in the UK and without their help families without ours would go without the amazing help and support that we received when Emmie was first born.
I'm running the Tatton 10k on 5th November (I must note very slowly probably with some walking as I will be 4 months pregnant) for this amazing charity.
£10 could pay for two MAM soft specialist feeding bottles. Cleft babies cannot create suction themselves. When we had Emmie we couldn't figure out at first why she wasn't latching on correctly and she didn't feed for almost 24 hours. When the cleft palate nurse arrived she gave us two of these amazing specialist bottles from Clapa and Emmie had her first bottle feed. These bottles gave us so much hope and happiness and they are invaluable.
I know times are hard and money is tight, so even £5 or whatever you can afford would mean the world. I can't imagine how we would have coped without the support of CLAPA in the early days with Emmie and hope no families will have to cope without them in the future.
