On being elected Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham made it a priority to end rough sleeping.
As part of this pledge, Andy introduced the 'A Bed Every Night' scheme, which offers a shelter for people living on the streets and the start of a process to helping them live independently.
Last October, Mossley based homeless charity Emmaus and officers and staff from Greater Manchester Police's Tameside Borough took part in a charity football match, raising over £2000 for the Greater Manchester Mayor's Homelessness Fund.
We are repeating the event on Sunday 8th September, but even bigger and better. Andy Burnham is turning out for an Emmaus XI, which will also include ex professional footballers Danniel Nardiello and Guy Branston.
We want to surpass the amount raised at last year's event and so encourage as many people as possible to come on the day and enjoy the fun on offer, which includes:
- climbing wall
- Nerf gun range
- inflatable slide
- bouncy castle
- stalls
- tombola
- silent auction
- prize raffle
- U8s football tournament
- dance troop
- mascots
- singers
...and much more
