Story
I’m taking on the London Marathon 2019, this a huge challenge for me as I’m not a natural runner and I have never done long distance running before however this is nothing compared to what my best friend Karen’s son Charlie and family had to go through, which is what is spurring me on to complete this.
My son Harry and Charlie were very close friends from when they were babies, they shared many memories including holidays together, they loved spending time together. We were all very fond of Charlie and he was a very happy boy but at just 7 years old he lost his life to brain tumour just 8 months after diagnosis which was a massive shock for us all.
Charlie had to endure lots of invasive treatment and was really brave but unfortunately whilst Charlie was ill his parents found out that there was no more that could be done for him and that brain tumour had not received enough funding to make any advances in treatment of Charlie’s particular tumour in 40 years which is why Charlie Charges On was set up to help fund as much for brain tumour research as we can in memory of Charlie
So please if you can help by sponsoring me I would be extremely grateful because the research is massively under funded and I want to raise as much as I can to fund as much brain tumour research as possible in Charlie’s memory.
