Story
Hello All,
A big Thank You to all those who have sponsored me & for your kind words of support - we did it!!!
We started at 9.45am and finished for 5.45pm.....8 hours, at 2.5 miles per hour - not bad considering it rained the whole time & got very misty on the hilltops! I was tired at 9 miles (but still smiling), my legs were aching at 10.5 miles (but still smiling), I was avoiding sheep and cows at 14 miles (but still smiling 'nervously'), I was delirious at 17 miles (but still smiling), I'd lost all sensation in my legs by 19 miles (but still smiling).....and completed the whole 20 MILES (with a huge smile.....of relief!)
A huge *Thank You* to Joanne for walking the Ribbon with me and more importantly still talking to me & wanting to be my friend! I promise the next time we clock up 20 miles it will be shopping at the Trafford Centre (with someone carrying our bags!!)
I realise now that I am not superwoman (I would have flown the last 7 miles....!) - but it is a more than worthy cause to help those affected by The Big C. There is still plenty of time left to donate through this site :-)
With Love, Emz xx

"The Haddon Hall & Peak District Ribbon Walk is in the heart of Britain’s oldest and most popular National Park. The route takes in the farmland, dales and moors of the River Wye and River Derwent World Heritage Site. Starting and finishing at beautiful medieval Haddon Hall, the route passes through the 1,000 acre parkland of Chatsworth House, one of Britain’s best loved historic estates. The Chatsworth grounds are renowned for their beautiful walks and spectacular fountains. The landscape of the area means there will be a few more hills than the Cotswolds event, but the views will more than make up for the effort."
