Story
Hey there!
I have decided I will be taking part in Sheffield's Memory walk for Alzheimer's on the 11th October and have opted to do the 10km walk.
I am doing this for people who suffer from Dementia, who have been recently diagnosed with the illness and for the people who have passed away from it also. I am also raising money for their families and carers.
A couple of years ago, my Nanan was diagnosed with Dementia though sadly she has rapidly gone down hill with the illness. My mum, auntie and granddad all care for her at home and have done for the past few years, and since she was diagnosed with it. The carer's that come round to help with my Nan are amazing and lovely.
Everyone has helped my Nan with her illness and I would like to raise money for the awareness, for love for my Nan. She's still fighting the illness and still tells people she loves them...and to also sod off haha.
My Granddad has done so well and been so patient for my Nan and his wife, with loving and caring and just looking after her in many ways, he's so strong and so is my Nan and I have never seen such a strong bond of love in all my life. So this is for my Granddad as well.
But I'm doing this for her as she means so much to me and all the other people that are either suffering from Dementia at the moment, for people who have been recently diagnosed or who have passed away and their families and friends. It's also for my other Grandma and my Boyfriends Auntie :)
Just £50 will pay for someone with dementia to go to a Dementia Café session every week for a month, where they can meet others, share experiences and feel less isolated. And the more I raise, the bigger the difference it will make.
I want to help so many people, so if you can help me reach my goal of £100 or near it, it is much appreciated and families effected by it will be very happy, proud and thankful :)
Thank you for taking the time to read my page and I hope you can help, or join me on my walk! :)
