Story
I'm running the British 10k London Run for the people in my picture. My mum and dad.
I chose Cancer Research UK as the charity I want to support because it is the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. There’s still no cure for this horrible disease, but thanks to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, more people are beating cancer than ever before.
In 2009 I ran the British 10k London Run (after a drunken agreement with Miss Willenberg) and with only one week’s training I stumbled around the track in a dismal hour and a half!
When mum died in October 2009 of melanoma, I decided I wanted to do something for the hospital that treated her, so I signed up and completed the 2010 Silverstone Half Marathon.
So, now that I am pretty much a professional at this game (!) and with dad currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment for secondary bowel cancer, I thought that I should probably dust off those Nike Bowermans and get my arse in gear training and fund raising!
It would be great if you could please dig deep and sponsor me – it’s quick, easy and totally secure. Cancer Research UK is funded entirely by amazing supporters like you. By sponsoring me you can help more people survive cancer.
Every pound you donate really does make a difference to Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer – so please sponsor me now!
Gift Aid it!
If you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box when donating as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support!
