Story
Firstly, thank you for sparing some time to have a look at my fundraising page.
"I am going to run the London Marathon!"
That is a sentence I never thought I would say, but that is exactly what I said over and over again in disbelief whilst jumping up and down in the kitchen, wildly alternating between unbridled joy and absolute terror!
Just what had I got myself into?
At school I never ran the cross country route, always walked, I just couldn't see the point in it!
There certainly is a very good point in running for a charity and once I had come back down to earth I started to think about which one.
I decided to run for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity and raise funds in order for them to provide world-class care for it's young patients and their families during which can be a very emotional and unsettling time for all concerned. Just being able to provide accommodation and support for families whilst their child is in hospital must take such a weight off already burdened shoulders and make life just that little bit easier.
Funds raised for Great Ormond Street also go towards:
- contributing to the rebuilding and refurbishment of the hospital
- supporting ground-breaking research into the development of new treatments
- funding the most up-to-date equipment
I think you would agree that this is a fantastic charity that does such brilliant work and I along with them would be grateful for your support, every penny donated is precious as is every child that will benefit.
Thank you for reading, and think of me on Sunday April 13th 2014!
