Story

At JLL we believe strongly in social return and in our responsibility to give back and support important charities and organisations, it’s one of the many reasons I’m proud to work for JLL. The opportunity to make WWF our flagship charity partner for the next three years, was one that all of us are excited about. And I’m thrilled to be kicking off our fundraising campaign by taking a challenge of a lifetime, completing the Cape Wrath hike

About the Hike

They convinced me by sharing the following….

“Cape Wrath Hike a strenuous, tough-going two-day hike over 40km, along the beautiful and isolated coast of Scotland.”

More specifically: Cape Wrath is a site of special scientific interest due to the plants and wildlife there. Its remote location means it’s pretty much uninhabited, with just one road, showcasing the positives to nature when humans aren’t destroying it. It’s a special protection area for birds with 10’s of 1000’s of breeding birds on its cliffs, and there’s also the chance of seeing whales, dolphins, red deer amongst many other species.

The challenge:

Day one will see me hiking up and down the Foinaven peak, approx. 13.5 miles and 5000ft. Day two will be a coastal walk from Kinlochbervie to the Cape Wrath lighthouse, a perfect finish line, and

hopefully a chance to spot some nesting puffins and minke whales.

You’re Roar-some!

Seriously thank you for sponsoring me – it means the world (pun intended) to me, that you’re joining my mission to raise funds and awareness for WWF.   Thank you.

Why I’m raising funds for WWF

WWF is one of the world’s largest independent conservation organisations. Their mission is to restore nature and tackle the main causes of nature’s decline, particularly the food system and climate change. We’re fighting for a world with thriving habitats and species, where it’s unacceptable to overuse our planet’s resources.

Every day, all around the world, WWF are working with local communities to protect our amazing planet.  Shockingly, around a million animal and plant species are now threatened with extinction – more than ever before in human history. At the same time, the climate emergency threatens to expose millions of people to extreme heat waves and could leave a billion people affected by sea-level rise within decades, among several other impacts. But while the challenges we face are tough, we have the know-how to meet them. Together, with your support and our combined passion and determination, we can build a world with a better future.

And they’re striving to protect the world's most treasured wild places from being overexploited for their natural resources.

TOGETHER, WE CAN STILL BUILD A FUTURE WHERE PEOPLE LIVE IN HARMONY WITH NATURE.

Thank you for your donation and words of encouragement.
