Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I successfully completed the Great West Run on a hot sweaty sunny Sunday! Many wet sponges were required as I slogged around the course, but I did managed to beat my personal best...by an impressive 30 seconds! I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has given to Hospiscare, and everyone who has encouraged me in my training. Your help and support has already made a difference. £600 will pay for a 24-hour stay in the hospice, and for a patient to attend a day-care clinic, enabling them to feel comfortable and for their loved-ones to have quality time with them whilst someone else does the looking-after.

In November my dad, David, was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and died in Hospiscare just three days later. The team at Hospiscare enabled him to die comfortably and with dignity, and were a huge help afterwards too - sensitively telling us what needed to be done and when. You can check out the Hospiscare page to see in more detail what they do - but the short story is that it costs them over £10k per day to provide their services, which are completely free and put many families at ease knowing their loved ones are cared for in their last days, weeks or months.
