Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our just JustGiving page.

Myself and the team at Edwards & Gray, will be taking on Snowdon in August, to support Brain Tumour Research and the wonderful work they do. We have chosen to support Brain Tumour Research as in October 2020, my younger sister was diagnosed with a Brain Tumour, aged just 31.

How do you ever prepare for this diagnosis? Hearing those words? Brain Tumours, they happen to other people don't they? Well it appears not... much to the shock of myself and my family. My sister had been mis-diagnosed over a number of years, symptoms missed on several occasions, symptoms which seem so completely obvious now.

My sister has since undergone brain surgery (during lockdown) radiotherapy, monthly chemotherapy, countless MRIs, blood tests and eye examinations. She has taken this all in her stride, showing grace, courage and strength that has inspired us all, she has no idea just how much.

Myself and my E&G family would like to raise as much as we possibly can for this wonderful cause and the work they do. We will grab our walking boots and take on the challenge together.

So for every courageous person that faces this diagnosis and to whatever their journey may be, please donate what you can to support brain tumour research and help to kick its ass.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
