Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So why am I doing this challenge? Well, I was looking for something to challenge myself as I am always up for new and exciting challenges whilst raising money for a charity close to my heart. Having done a string of running challenges, I fancied a change and signed up for the Jurassic Coast Walk for Weldmar. While attending the training walks, I mentioned that I wanted something more of a challenge and was told about the Indian Himalayan Trek. I attended the information evening and signed up straight away. This later turned into trekking the Himalayan range in Nepal with Poon Hill being the peak.
This event has been more than just the challenge of actually completing the trek; fundraising the minimum amount needed to take part in the trek has been a massive challenge and huge learning curve for me and I would like to thank all those that have supported me so far with this part of the challenge. Also patience, covid has delayed the trek numerous times and we’ve had to adapt each time.
I chose Weldmar as a charity as, although I've not had personal experience with using the services provided by Weldmar, family members and close friends have been affected by cancer and I wanted to do something to help raise money for the vital services provided to cancer sufferers but at the same time wanted to be able to help a local charity to benefit.
