Story
Hello !
I'm Emma Cook and I am 24 years old .
Thank you for taking this time to visit my JustGiving Page.
Some of you may remember that I Skydived in 2011 and Walked on Fire in 2015 , and most recently , in 2017 I went to China and trekked the Great Wall , all to raise money for the Isabel Hospice Charity.
The next challenge is ‘ The Rockies ‘ , and I will do this in memory of my wonderful dad - Steve Cook.
The hospice mean the world to me and I am so grateful for everything they do .
When my dad was diagnosed with having a cancerous brain tumour In 2008 he battled 2 years he putting on a brave face as he went through his Chemo and Radio therapy.
Just before Christmas 2009 my dad went to the Isabel Hospice, and that's where he spent his last 13 days before he passed away.
The Isabel hospice cared for my dad and they supported my mum Lynn and my sister Laura and I through this terrible time.
January 2nd 2010 my dad passed away at the age of just 51.
Steve Cook was loved by many and still now, 8 years on he is extremely missed. He was one in a million.
He was my dad but also my inspiration and my best friend.
On the 8th September I will be flying to Canada . This 5-day trek takes place on the Canadian Rockies (home to the grizzly and black bears) with full day treks in Kootenay, Banff and Yoho National Parks. Discovering the jagged mountain peaks, glaciers, forests and lakes. I will take on some of the most challenging trek trails in this part of Canada and I shall also be camping out.
The trek will take me on a climb through steep hikes , rocky floors and stony trails which will require me to be training hard before I go .
I can not stress enough that every pound helps. What ever you can spare I will be extremily grateful and will make a difference to improve someone's life .
Please join me in trying to make a difference and support the wonderful Isabel Hospice.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Xx
