Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
In August 2009, my 5 children (Ryan, age 14, Theresa, age 12, Carlos, age 9, Sasha, age 6, Jessica, age 4), Dexter the travelling teddy bear and I will be undertaking a mad, epic adventure to raise funds for our Scout Group's (the 38th Bournemouth) Expedition to Uganda in 2010. This Expedition is known as Nile 2010. Please visit their website www.nile2010.co.uk
We will be cycling from John o Groats to Lands End which is approximately 1000 miles. No doubt it will be slightly more as I am renowned for getting totally lost. We will be taking our mostly trusty Tom Tom - just in case.
We will be doing this adventure unsupported by a back up vehicle. To keep the costs down, we will be camping all the way down. We'll be taking 3 lightweight tents and 2 trailers for all the baggage. Ryan will be pulling the heavy trailer as he loves to wizz off, so hopefully this will slow him down slightly! Jessica will be in the baby seat on my bike and Sasha will also be in a trailer being towed by me. Not much different to the school run really! We are aiming to cycle on average 40 miles a day and the whole journey should take just over 3 weeks.
Its going to be a fantastic experience and who knows, we might see the Loch Ness Monster or even the Beast of Bodmin Moor.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Nile 2010 gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So if you would like to sponsor me and my "Crew" or make a donation, please feel free. Every penny you donate moves the Nile 2010 Expedition a little closer to their £100,000 target.
Thank you for taking the time to read my fundraising page
