Story
This upcoming year (2021-2022) I am going to serve as a Jesuit Volunteer (JV) at a community health center in Cleveland! The Jesuit Volunteer Corps is a year long service opportunity that allows volunteers to live in solidarity with marginalized communities.
I am so excited to volunteer as a care team patient advocate and to improve access to affordable primary care, quality of care, and patient outcomes. I am hoping to become more culturally cognizant of social determinants of health so that I can advocate for these communities in a way that is rooted in understanding and compassion.
This fundraising page has two functions: (1) To help incoming Jesuit Volunteers and their friends and families to connect more deeply with the mission of JVC; and (2) To raise funds in support of JVC, which will help us continue to partner with over 200 non-profit agencies and provide vital service to tens of thousands of people every year.
I feel extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve and work alongside individuals who share their time, talents, and treasures for the chance that we might be able to enact real, beautiful, and meaningful change.
