Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

Mark and Emma are running the British 10k race on the 6th July to raise the profile of the charity "Action for M.E" and much needed funds. Although training has not yet started we intend to try and break 1 hour 10 minutes as our target time. There are an estimated 24,000 runners attending the event so if we fail to beat the target time please blame the others for getting in our way!

M.E, alternatively described as "chronic fatigue syndrome" is a disabling illness which is often triggered by a viral infection. It currently affects 240,000 people in the UK and has a devastating effect on millions more due to the resulting difficulties caused to families and friends.

As some of you may know, Mark's father suffered from M.E for many years although thankfully he is now more or less recovered. Mark's mother was then diagnosed with the illness and, whilst much improved and no longer requiring a wheelchair, is still on the road to recovery.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Action for M.E. gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

We would be really grateful if you would please sponsor US!
