Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Emma and Acushla are about to go to Uganda for two months to conduct some research for Irise International. Irise works in the UK and Uganda and aims to create a world where nobody is held back by their period. Through talking to communities and understanding the barriers menstruation creates for women, Irise has aimed to establish reusable, affordable sanitary towels, menstrual education and research to inform policy to allow for women and girls to flourish in a menstruation friendly environment.
We are aiming to raise £350 for Irise to contribute to their life changing work for women and girls. Our first challenge will be hiking to the top of kinder scout, the highest point in the Peak District and we will continue to update this page with information and videos about other fundraising actvities while we’re in Uganda.
Absolutely ANY donation would be hugely appreciated, £5 allows for a girl’s menstrual needs to be met to allow her to go to school all month. If we reach £350, this allows for lasting change within multiple communities through the transformation of attitudes towards menstruation.
Thank you so much for your support!
