Story
Hello! Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I thought it was about time to get my hair cut and then the thought of donating my hair popped into my head. So instead of getting a little trim, at least 10inches (25cm) of my locks are being cut off!
The hair itself will be donated to The Little Princess Trust. This is a fantastic charity which provides real hair wigs to children suffering with hair loss due to cancer and other illnesses such as alopecia. However, the charity also relies heavily on monetary donations due to the costs of processing etc. Because of this I am also fundraising alongside my hair donation.
The Little Princess Trust not only supplies wigs to children suffering with hair loss but it also provides personal fitting and styling to ensure the hair is as close to possible to the original hair.
For any parent, discovering your child has a serious illness like cancer or leukaemia is devastating. The trauma for both parent and child can be increased by worrying about the side effects of the treatment, particularly hair loss. That is why your support is so important. The Little Princess Trust provides wigs for both girls and boys aged 2 to 18. By donating any amount of money to The Little Princess Trust you can really help a child who is suffering with hair loss due to illness. Please visit their website at: www.littleprincesses.org.uk to find out more about the fantastic work this charity does.
If you would like to come along and see it being chopped, it will be done during Largs Youth Theatre's slot on the stage at Largs Gala Day on June 11th 2011.
