Story
As a Nordic Walking Instructor I LOVE a challenge! When I heard that Willen Hospice in Milton Keynes, had to change their fund raising Moo Walks for 2020 due to the Coronavirus, I decided to raise some extra funds for the Hospice in a different way!
As well as registering for the NEW Moo, a 10 mile 'Walk your own Moo' in September, I have signed up to Nordic Walk 100km in a week! (6-12 July). My distance will be tracked using MAP MY WALK for the Virtual Ultra Challenge 'Race to the Stones' https://www.racetothestones.com I'll be keeping you all updated on social media and here on this page.
I've also been making face coverings for those concerned about Coronavirus and donating £2.50 from each mask to Willen Hospice. Currently £145 raised!
The 100km is going to be hard work (my regular Nordic Walking week is usually 60'ish KM), but not as tough as the situations this charity helps families through on a day to day basis. Willen Hospice provides specialist end-of-life care for adults, focusing on four key areas: specialist symptom control, emotional support, spiritual support and care for carers. Often the most distressing aspect of living with life-limiting illnesses is the types of pain and symptoms which can arise. Willen's team of dedicated staff and volunteers can give compassionate, specialist support to patients, and their family members, to help deal with, as they wish to, the physical and emotional effects of both their illness and treatments.
Please donate whatever you can manage on this page to show your support and encouragement for my extra mileage in July as well as showing your support for all the MK Nordic Walkers, walking the 10 mile MOO in September - THANK YOU!
