For the past 5 years i've gone to watch the runners in the Marathon. I always go to Poplar High Street - around the 20 mile mark, i would think the hardest bit. You just ran 20 miles but you still have 6 ( aka bloody ages) left!
People really need support at this point and every year i can't help but look mental on my own sometime in tears yelling out to the random people "come on Pete!!!...yes Lisa!!!...keep going Gavin...!!!" having no idea who they are but can see that they are going through absolute pain and hell, they'd love to drop out then and there, but need to keep going. That's what they're choosing to do, which is what i applaud and yell at them for.

Unlike the marathon runners at the 20 mile mark of Poplar High St, the women and children the ActionAid help have no choice but to keep going. ActionAid helps by supporting women in real trouble due to war, neglect or abuse in developing countries. The money you donate to me running could go to paying for a girl to learn skills to support herself like fishing, farming or sewing, or could just pay for basics like sanitary towels for women at a refuge.

I've been a runner for about 10 years and have done 3 Half Marathons. At the end of the 13 mile distance of a Half, I imagine running the whole thing again and how impossible that sounds - I'm slightly scared i can't make a whole 26 miles, I've never managed a distance longer than 16.

So it would help me get around the course it would be great if you could sponsor me 50p per mile, or £1 per mile or even £2 per mile, (so £13, £26 or £52) this would just help me get round knowing each mile i run is earning ActionAid even more money and that i need to keep going. 

I'm half thinking cutting back on drinking and running outside for the winter months  might be even harder than the race itself so I'm going to try and document this in an instagram account which will be updated soon.
