Story
I have been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to volunteer for three months in Nepal, as part of Restless Development and the International Citizen Service (ICS) and their fight to promote and protect Human Rights.
Restless Development is a youth-led development agency and their mission is simple. To empower young people to influence change and become the educators, facilitators and policy makers of today. Young people are highly affected by the most persistent problems in the world, yet are frequently overlooked as part of the solution. As part of Restless Development I will be working closely with local volunteers from Nepal in order to educate communities, particularly women and children to help them understand and enforce their own Human Rights.
Restless Development is now leading efforts with UN agencies, bi-lateral agencies, civil society and governments in Africa and South Asia in how to effectively and meaningfully engage young people in development. It allows young people to be at the forefront of change and opportunity and aims to inspire people across the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term development.I need to raise a minimum of £800 in two months for the charity. None of the money I raise goes to me or for my travel/accommodation/flights etc, it goes directly back into the scheme in order for Restless Development to continue its mission in bringing about change and benefiting the people who need it most.
I would be so so grateful for any donation given so please help me to raise the money! I will be doing various sponsored events and activities until I leave in January so please sponsor me! You can track my progress here on my Just Giving page and any contribution will be an amazing help to the lives of people in developing countries.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for the support!!!
