Story
What?
I am delighted to be representing my employer, Avison Young, on this fantastic cycle challenge through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Forest of Bowland to raise funds for Coram.
As a keen triathlete based in Northumberland, I'm no stranger to hills and relish the opportunity of participating in this corporate event. This said, 256 miles and 21,500 ft of elevation over 3 days will be a real challenge taking me well beyond my comfort zone!
Why?
Club Peloton uses cycling events as a platform for raising funds for its partner charities, principally Coram.
Coram's mission is ensure that that every child has the best possible chance to lead a fulfilling life. They champion what matters most for children, creating better chances, and a brighter, happier future. They do this via projects involving adoption; supporting vulnerable youngsters to make their voice heard and education.
Club Peloton's other charity beneficiaries, Cyclists Fighting Cancer ( helping award adapted bikes to children affected by cancer), MSA Trust (supporting families affected) and Tom's Trust (tackling the root causes of violent crime) all worthy causes which will touch many of our hearts.
When?
16th - 19th September. Fingers crossed for an Indian Summer!
If you can give anything to help those less fortunate than ourselves then I'd be most grateful.
Regards
Emma
