Story

Starting my running career not long before my 50th birthday, I was more than happy to limit my runs to a 5km parkrun once a week (followed by a lazy afternoon on the sofa!).

Joining Southport Strollers Running Club changed all that and in 2023 I completed my first Marathon. Initially, I said I wasn’t ever going to do another marathon but I now feel ready for another challenge and am very excited to have a Charity Place with The Children’s Society to take part in the iconic London Marathon on April 21st 2024. In the lead up to the London Marathon I will also be running the London Royal Parks Half Marathon.

I am aiming to raise £2000 for the Children’s Society through your generous sponsorship and various fundraising events.

The Children's Society transforms the hopes and happiness of young people facing abuse, exploitation and neglect. They fight for hope by deeply understanding the needs of young people, supporting them through their most serious life challenges, and campaigning tirelessly for the big social changes that will improve the lives of those who need hope most. In the decade ahead, their focus and goal will be to overturn the damaging decline in wellbeing, ensuring this generation can have a happier, safer childhood.Thank you for all of your amazing support. Your fundraising makes a life changing difference. Mile by mile, together we can create a society for all children.
