Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
learning disability is caused by the way the brain develops shortly before, during or shortly after birth. it is always lifelong.
my eldest daughter was diagnosed with asperger`s syndrome at the age of four. it has had a profound impact on her life and on her ability to learn. although she is very clever, and excells at most subjects, she will always struggle with the social aspect of learning, which causes difficulties for her at school, and will continue into her adult life, too. she is 14 years old now, and would not be able to attend mainstream school without the help and support of organisations like mencap, who offer support to people like jess throughout their lives, enabling them to live as independantly as possible.
thanks for taking the time to read my story, pease give generously to this fantastic cause. xx
