Story

Competitors and press from all over the world are warming up to join in the fun on Sunday 24th April at the 2022 Maldon Mud Race, Promenade Park.

I am running the Maldon Mud Race and supporting my Dad’s two charities Essex & Hertz Air Ambulance and Thrombosis UK in his memory ❤️

I also want to raise awareness of Thrombosis, of which my dad recently passed away from. Unfortunately this can affect anyone at any age and although generally the risk is low some risk factors can increase your chances of developing a blood clot. Most commonly known as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) which can break off and travel to your lungs (pulmonary embolism, PE.)

Although up to 80% of DVTs have no symptoms, Common signs and symptoms include pain tenderness and swelling of the leg and discolouration of the leg.

Symptoms in Pulmonary embolisms include; shortness of breath, chest pain and collapsing.

For more detailed information please visit https://thrombosisuk.org

By raising awareness of this I hope to be able to help others seek early medical treatment to prevent tragedy.

My dad was a fit, active, funny and caring man and did not deserve to leave us so soon. Please donate anything you can to aid in the research for treatment and help raise awareness to others.

❤️
