Story
I have decided to run (hopefully) in memory of my mum and best friend, Donna Coleman.
On May 26th last year my mum lost her two year battle with breast cancer, this is not something we as a family were prepared for as until a couple of weeks earlier we were completely unaware how bad things had gotten. Thanks to the help of Macmillan nurses my Mum got to stay at home where she wanted and we were able to spend her last hours together as a family which is something I will be eternally grateful for.
For anyone that knows me will know I can't run for more than a minute so this will be a massive challenge, and as it will be a year on the day from Mum's passing it seemed like a fitting tribute and a way to turn a difficult day into something positive.
Macmillan nurses are amazing at what they do but this comes at a price, the cost just for one hour is £28. To put it in perspective for me, my mum only needed their support for 2 weeks, for such little time this would have costed £2068. There are so many people that need the help like we did and for much longer, so please donate anything you can. After having first hand experience I can say it definitely does make a difference.
