Story
On 25th July last year we got the news that every family dreads. At the age of 40, Mark, our amazing son, husband and daddy to our gorgeous little boy Harry was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Mark was diagnosed with kidney cancer which had spread to his bones.
Following diagnosis, the consultants worked swiftly to decide on the best course of treatment, and within a matter of weeks, Mark had received radiotherapy and immunotherapy treatment. Whilst there is a long and uncertain road ahead, we are delighted that Mark is responding well to treatment so far and all tumours have reduced in size.
Since day one, the personable, warm and sincere approach from ALL the staff at the Royal Marsden has been simply incredible. Their on-going honesty, compassion and absolute commitment has helped us navigate our way through this new normal.
To support the hospital in continuing their amazing work, Marks Mum Mary and I have decided to walk the 15 mile Marsden March to support the Royal Marsden Hospital Cancer Charity. They ensure the nurses, doctors and research teams provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments. They never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
Any donations, no matter how small will be very gratefully received
Lots of love Emma and Mary x x x
